Meet The Band
Our band is made up of musical entertainers: Steve on keyboards & vocals, Bruce on bass/acoustic guitars & vocals, Jordan Alexia on lead vocals, Russ on drums/percussion & vocals and Mike on lead/acoustic guitars & vocals. We each bring our unique talents and personalities to the mix, and make the Skarlett Heart family.

Our Sound
We're often asked what genre of music we play. We draw inspiration from a wide range of genres, from classic rock to alternative to county to dance party. Our sound is dynamic and always evolving. Throw out your top suggestions if we don’t have it on the current list, we will add it for future shows.

ABOUT OUR JOURNEY
Musical Attraction
The musicians in Skarlett Heart are from the suburbs of Detroit, Michigan. They have learned in garage bands, church bands, acoustic duos, wedding receptions and have performed on a few large stage venues. They have bonded over their shared passions for sound, rhythm and beats. Each member brings a unique musical aesthetic to the band and over the pass couple of years we’ve grown comfortable jumping genres and mashing up influences.
Fusion of Experiences
Starting out, the idea of living the road band life was the last thing on our minds. After a few years of going through the motions, we all realized it was time to get a dynamic classic rock band together, backed up with some super musical talent and hit the road. Individually, over the last few decades, we logged thousands of gigs — with the occasional festival appearance — in cities throughout Michigan and Southwestern Ontario. Our musical experiences proved crucial in shaping our new band sound.
Get Into The Groove (taken from article by Ed Friedland 2004)
The goove is an organic thing, like a flower. When fully grown it becomes a thing of beauty. The goove is also somewhat of an enigma. You can't touch it, but you can feel it; you can't see it, but you can watch it its effects. It can be powerful enough to move thousands of people. When Skarlett Heart is playing music together in the groove, the energy passes among the players. Everyone feels it, and the experience forms a deep personal bond.
Looking to the Future
We’re packing up the gear to bring our show to the local festivals, bar/entertainment venues and seasonal concert events. Our set list will prominently feature hits from the past 50 years of classic, modern and contemporary rock. We spice it up with some upbeat country, southern blues, pop dance and funk.
